So I know this might sound a bit like that song from the movie Accepted, and I really like that song, but I wasn't trying to rip it off or anything. I was just doing a free-write, and this is what came out.
June 7, 2011
Intervention. Animation.
Full creation and probation.
All wrapped up in a
Pre-packaged, processed nation.
Termination. Elimination.
Free to speak your mind equation.
Add it up, it's all in your imagination.
So deliberate the facts
And process the cheese.
No one gets out of here alive
Or free from disease.
Shut the door.
Dim the lights.
We all share some sleepless nights.
Give in to the constant
Barrage of information.
It's all part of a
Never-ending math equation.
And yes, I deliberately quoted Modest Mouse in the last line. :-)
So here's the song. Enjoy!

Letters From a Distant Land
I am spending the first half of my summer in Indiana, working for the New Harmony Theatre. I'm the Scenic Charge which means I paint the set (with the help of the one painter, Kendra, and occasionally our Scenic Designer, Ron). Currently we are working late nights painting the set out at New Harmony, which is about 40 mins from my apt in Evansville. I don't like driving at night, but it's usually ok. Tonight it was very windy with a storm approaching, but still, I made it home safe, and I even beat the storm home. Now I am watching the wind blow the trees around outside our living room window while Vh1's Top 20 Video Countdown gets the remainder of my attention. I'm the only one awake here. My roommates work different hours than me.
I can't help but feel incredibly happy and insanely lucky to be here. I love my job. Even though it's hard work, I enjoy it. I miss my friends and family, but I want them all to know that it's all worth it, and I will be home to visit when this job ends (end of July).
So now it's time to share a video. :-D Enjoy!
This is a great song, and it reminds me of the last ATU Theatre Banquet because Dallas was singing it. :-D
