I received a link from an undisclosed source. Please click on it before you watch the video below. You may never look at the Cookie Monster the same way again.

Here's the video:

Personally, I think the Cookie Monster is a bit of a con-artist and a moocher. I don't really think he's evil.

  1. The Cookie Monster was in fact a real monster of an imaginary lineage. It was found out that some of the children which would occasionally appear on Sesame Street wouldn't make any more appearances in life afterward. After much investigation, both by the Children's Television Workshop and an undercover group of Paranormal Investigators (and I don't mean silly little cold spot chasers), the cause (i.e. The Cookie Monster) was discovered. He was apparently one of many older beings who made a deal with Jim Henson to provide him with success in return for providing them with an a place in the modern world. Kermit the Frog and Gonzo the Great are two others of this group, though he had to introduce them at different times so as to not seem suspicious. The latter two do not seem to have dangerous tendencies, unlike the Monster. It is unknown if Henson was aware of what The Cookie Monster was up to.

He has since been replaced by an innocuous puppet. Because the creature which subsisted primarily on cookies no longer exists, the new Cookie Monster may eat other foods so as to set a "good example" for the kids. Sorry for the long comment.

  2. You don't have to be. He can't hurt anyone anymore anyway (insert-another-anyword-here).

    But remember:
Just because you don't believe in the monster under the bed doesn't mean it doesn't believe in you.
